Today we’re launching Drawdy — an infinite canvas built from scratch for people who think in systems.
Whiteboards are great for brainstorming, but they fall apart when you need structure. Design tools are beautiful, but they weren’t made for architecture diagrams or technical planning. Code editors are powerful, but they can’t show the big picture.
Drawdy lives in the space between all three.
Why we built this
Every builder we talked to had the same frustration: they’d start on a whiteboard, move to a doc, then to a design tool, then to code — losing context at every handoff. The thinking that happened on the whiteboard never made it to production.
We wanted to build a tool where your architectural thinking and your implementation could live in the same place.
What makes Drawdy different
- Infinite canvas with real structure. Not just sticky notes — you can create nodes, connectors, and diagrams that actually mean something.
- Local-first by default. Your data lives on your device. No account required to start. No cloud dependency.
- Built for speed. Drawdy is fast. Really fast. We obsess over frame rates and input latency because creative tools should never make you wait.
- Extensible. A plugin API that lets you build custom nodes, integrations, and workflows on top of the canvas.
What’s next
We’re shipping fast. Real-time collaboration and unlimited version history are already live — we’ve written about how we built both on this blog. Next up: our first set of community plugins. Follow along here — we share the technical decisions, design philosophy, and roadmap as we build in the open.
Welcome to Drawdy.
